Document Attestation

For the Documents Originated from the Competent Authorities in Nepal and Attested by the Department of Consular Services

1. Educational Documents

Required Documents:

  1. Original Copy of the Documents (Attested by the Department of Consular Services in Nepal)
  2. Copies of the documents requiring attestation
  3. Copy of Passport
  4. Copy of Temporary Residence Card (TRC)
  5. Attestation fee: EUR 15 per document must be paid to the Embassy"s bank account through online transfer before visiting the Embassy.

2. Driving License

Required Documents:

  1. Original Copy of the Document originated from the Transport Management Office (Attested by the Department of Consular Services in Nepal)
  2. Copies of the documents requiring attestation
  3. Copy of Passport
  4. Copy of Temporary Residence Card (TRC)
  5. Attestation fee: EUR 50 per document must be paid to the Embassy"s bank account through online transfer before visiting the Embassy.

3. Birth/Marriage Certificate/Unmarried Verification

Required Documents:

  1. Original Copy of the Documents Originated from the relevant Ward Office/Court (Attested by the Department of Consular Services in Nepal)
  2. Copies of the documents requiring attestation
  3. Copy of Passport
  4. For Marriage Certificate: Copies of Citizenship and Passport of Both Parties
  5. Copy of Temporary Residence Card (TRC)
  6. Attestation fee: EUR 50 per document must be paid to the Embassy"s bank account through online transfer before visiting the Embassy.

4. Police Report

Required Documents:

  1. Original Copy of the Document (Attested by the Department of Consular Services in Nepal)
  2. Copies of the documents requiring attestation
  3. Copy of Passport
  4. Copy of Temporary Residence Card (TRC)
  5. Attestation fee: EUR 100 per document must be paid to the Embassy"s bank account through online transfer before visiting the Embassy.

For the documents originated from the competent authorities in the following countries:

  1. Albania
  2. Austria
  3. Bosnia and Herzegovina
  4. Croatia
  5. Georgia
  6. Greece
  7. Montenegro
  8. North Macedonia
  9. Slovenia

Required Documents:

  1. Original Copy of the Documents (Attested by the Ministry of European and International Affairs, Austria/Embassy of Respective Country in Vienna)
  2. Copies of the documents requiring attestation
  3. Copy of Passport
  4. Copy of Residence Card
  5. Attestation fee: According to the type mentioned above. The attestation fee must be paid to the Embassy"s bank account through online transfer before visiting the Embassy.

Note: Bank payment is mandatory. There is no option for Card or Cash payment.

For applicants unable to appear in person for attestation

A. Courier

  • Send your documents through Courier to the Embassy"s address:
    Schwindgasse 5/1/6, 1040 Wien
  • Pay the full revenue amount through Bank. Do not forget to put service seeker"s name and purpose of revenue in the reference section.
  • Inform to with documents and payment receipt.
  • Book courier to receive your documents after the confirmation sent by Embassy to the same email address you used to send documents earlier.
  • Inform after receiving your documents.

B. Authorization Letter

  • Send all required documents through a close friend or relative. If the person is a relative, include documents proving the relationship.
  • Send an Authorization letter with the same person which includes the following:

The Authorization Letter must include:

  • Addressed to the Embassy.
  • Reason for being unable to appear in person.
  • Types of the documents requiring attestation.
  • Name and passport number of the authorized recipient.
  • Name and passport number of the person granting authorization.
  • Signature of both parties.
  • Self-Declaration : A statement declaring that, if the information provided in the authorization letter is found to be false, the declarant is prepared to bear punishment in accordance with the law.
Important: If there is suspicion regarding the authenticity of the Authorization Letter, the Embassy shall not be obliged to attest the documents or handover the attested documents.
